(More customer reviews)I received one of these as a Christmas gift along with a badger-hair brush. At first I did not like the clunky look of it, but it does things that other mugs do not. There is a little platform inside the mug that snugly holds a puck of shave soap so that it does not slide around or fall out when you dump the excess water. This little platform centers and elevates the soap slightly so that the excess water pools below the platform and doesn't turn your soap to mush. It is made of a good, solid rubber so that when you drop it in your tile shower, your tiles are safe from damage. It may not be the prettiest thing to look at, but it could be uglier, and you won't find a better lather mug

(More customer reviews)I *love* this soap! Now that I've tried it I'm completely spoiled and won't use anything else when I bathe. The shea butter makes it feel so luxurious, rarely have I found a vegetarian soap that can produce such a rich lather. And it smells fantastic, too.
Some people think shea butter is only for people of African descent, but it also works extremely well on my pink and white German/Irish skin.
If you thought that using soaps free of animal ingredients meant "roughing it", you'll be very happy with this soap.

The only problem is that is the coloring or dye, (I assume is natural), discolors my washcloth when I rub it on the cloth. A little disconcerting the first time that this happens, but I still rate the soap highly since it is mild and does a great job on my skin. I have very sensitive skin and this soap is good. Happy face!
