(More customer reviews)The most overpowering aspect of this Gain detergent is its smell. I used Gain many years ago and I remember it smelling very nice. THIS version, however, smells like cheap bubblegum, and very strongly, too. The whole basement smells like bubblegum when I do a load of laundry. And the odor remains with the laundry after drying. I used a towel that had been on the shelf for a couple of days and the Gain odor had deteriorated into something sour.
In terms of its ability to clean, it's fine. I don't see any effect of the "touch of softness". But the smell will prevent me from ever using this again. Maybe if I were 7 years old I could appreciate the tutti-frutti gum smell, but I don't. I'll stick with the store brand I've been using.
