This scrub has the same table-salt grain and dry texture as my favorite scrub that was discontinued. A small amount covers a large area and really scours, taking off all the dead and dry skin. Nothing rubs off on the towel after this scrub. It doesn't have a sweet, fruity fragrance like other more popular products; it has an herbal, earthy scent with a definite note of lavender. Despite the dryness of the scrub itself, it has just enough essential oil in it that your skin feels moisturized afterwards--not dried out and not greasy. I didn't need any lotion; my skin felt smooth and naturally moist. If you're looking for a mild, sweet-smelling body rub, this is not for you. If you're looking for a good, abrasive scrub that really polishes away dry/dead skin, this is it. If you take issue with the herbal scent, you can always scrub first then finish up with your favorite scented shower gel. BTW, this is the perfect scrub for exfoliating your legs prior to epilation, helping to prevent ingrown hairs. Comes in a generous size for a very reasonable price. I love it, and will be buying it again.
