(More customer reviews)I've used Gain Original Scent powder detergent in all of my recent loads of laundry, and I find that it gets everything that I've washed with it nice and clean, and leaves my laundry smelling fresh without seeming overly perfumed.
I've tried following the directions on the box and adding the powder to a machine full of water then adding the clothes after, dissolving the powder into a cup of hot water and pouring it into the machine as it fills, as well as filling the machine dry, pouring the powder detergent over top of the clothes as the machine fills with water and just letting it run. Regardless of addition method, the detergent does its job without leaving any residue behind, which I was concerned about following the latter lazy method! ; )
I'm sure that I'm just another one of many laundry do-ers that overdoes it with the detergent. More often than not, the packaging seems to suggest that I use far LESS detergent than I'm inclined to use. Even here, the packaged scoop suggests at most filling it 3/4 of the way, as opposed to all the way to the top, which is my tendency, but whether I'm overdoing it or not, I'm glad to find that Gain's powdered detergent seems to dissolve completely, even in colder water.
Overall, I'm very happy with the performance of this detergent by Gain. Other scents that they make are even more appealing to me, but if you're looking for something that won't make your clothes smell like you massaged either a mass of fresh produce or flowers into your clothes, and leave them nice and unquestionably clean, this Gain powdered detergent might be just what you're looking for!
