(More customer reviews)In 1999, after using Min-Wax floor stripper purchased from the hardware store, with the wrong gloves, my hands were defatted, rough to the point of almost bleeding, and very painful. The volatile organic compounds in the chemical floor stripper has caused peripheral neuropathy --nerve damage--in my fingers. There is no cure or antidote! I share this to warn you. The information on the label was inadequate and vague, at best.
Since that time, I've tried many creams to add moisture and help regain the elasticity in my skin so I could bend my fingers and use my hands.
Mode de Vie Karite One, 100% pure Shea Butter, is a very thick emollient, which softens dry skin, and may even add moisture. It's not as expensive as some people claim, because a little goes a long way. Slightly under a half teaspoon is enough to cover the skin on my 5'9" body. Before, clothing your body, be certain the cream is massaged well into your skin!
This emollient is the only product that has repeatedly worked for me! I highly recommend Mode De Vie Karite One Shea Butter (emollient) which is a solidified cake like "soap" but comes in a well-sealed plastic tub sealed for our protection. This "soap" is NOT to used with water, but as a cream.
