It may be a matter of preference, but I prefer the pump over this product, though this particular form of lava is very concentrated and therefore a superior value.
Lava has been known as the hand soap for men who got their hands dirty. It was a product originally marketed to coal miners and oil-rig workers since 1893. UNTIL NOW.
ENTER "Lava Heavy-Duty Hand Cleaner LOTION". Still, "a by-product of volcanic activity, pumice is used in combination with other cleaning agents to clean even the dirtiest of hands" according to their website which is parent company WD40's site.
Right away I noticed the moisturizers, as my hands felt clean and exfoliated without that dry film that seems to come with products like "Ivory Soap". The liquid product and the pump delivery system made Lava the new "must have" for our entire household. Nothing short of grease solvents will get the dirt from under one's fingernails like this new Lava. In liquid, it does seem to get into small places more easily and the pump makes it very sanitary and easy to use. It's even economical! You can't beat that!
DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THIS AND OTHER LAVA LOTIONS:
Basically, this is too thick to be in a pump container. Still, it also retains the moisturizers and nice smelling fruity things along with the trusty pumice and usual lava entourage of hand cleaning ingredients.
